About me

I am twenty- eight years old and I compete in the sport of rifle shooting. The discipline I compete in is called Small-Bore-Rifle shooting. Small-bore-rifle shooting is an Olympic discipline.

The First time I represented Australia internationally was in January 2000. To date, I have represented Australia in the following:

  • 2002 Commonwealth games
  • 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth games

  • 2008 Beijing Olympic Games
  • The Commonwealth Shooting Federation championships
  • World championships
  • World cups
  • Oceania games
  • Singapore Shooting Festival
  • The Victorian state team (since 1997)

The highlight of my shooting career is finishing in 6th place in the Milan World cup 2008 and also being selected for and competing in the 2008 Olympics.

At the 2006 games, I equalled my personal best in international competition to take the silver medal in the three-positions team event. In the same week at the games, I beat my personal best by a further ten points to take bronze in the individual three-position event.

On Both days of competition in the three-position event, I placed third overall. Before the games were finished and on the same day that I had won my bronze medal, I travelled directly from the rifle range to the airport, where I flew to China for a world cup.

In China my personal best score rose to 1152 out of a possible 1200, another 2 points higher than previously. On my return from China, I set a new Australian domestic record, at the South Australian championships. The record score for Australia is now 1159 out of 1200. The previous record of AIS athlete Timothy Lowndes, of 1156, had stood for a total of seven years.
